What’s Liz Reading?

black-dots

First and foremost, I’m a reader. A romance reader. So here’s what’s on my Kindle and the audiobooks I’m listening to on my iPhone.

READING NOW

Playing with her Heart … by Lauren Blakely. A broadway director is trying hard to stay professional but can’t help falling hard for the lead’s understudy in his new production.

JUST FINISHED

Formal Arrangement by Kylie Gilmore. Overwrought single dad seeks a sweet nanny for his rambunctious toddler. Sweet single school teacher is in search of true love in the form of a “unicorn” – the sweet alpha male. Worlds collide.

BOOKS IN THE QUEUE

Good Boy by Sabrina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Triple Play II by Mindy Klansky (Baseball heroes. Loved her first boxed set.)

Full Package by Lauren Blakely

Dirty Deeds by Lorelei James

(And that’s just the tip of a very deep iceberg.)

RECENTLY READ

Joy Ride by Lauren Blakely. He’s a top auto mechanic forced to work with the female apprentice he fired five years ago. Now their Lamborghini customization is being taped for TV.

The Thing About Love by Julie James. Always a good read. FBI guys, Chicago, sassy heroines. Can’t go wrong with a Julie James.

Against the Wall by Mara Jacobs. The fourth in her Anna Dawson series—a Vegas mystery series with a gambling-addicted heroine and a hot cop-on-her-heels hero. I’m generally not a mystery girl, but the ongoing relationship between hero and heroine in this series has me hooked.

The Chosen by J.R. Ward.  Love, love, love this series even though I’m not a big “Vampire” fan. Because come on. Her vampires … there are no words.

So Revealing by Kylie Gilmore (She writes small-town romance. Start with her Not My Romeo which is one of my all-time favorites.)

Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas (Love everything by her. This did not disappoint.)

Pucked Off by Helena Hunting (Hot Ice hockey heroes series. Love them all.)

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (Clever and fun by a first-time author.)

Hang Tough by Lorelei James (Love her cowboys but this wasn’t my favorite. My favorite is still All Jacked Up, so check that one out instead.)

The Deal by Elle Kennedy (AGAIN because it’s that good. Love the banter.)

Idol by Kristen Callihan

What Audiobook is Liz Listening To?

black-dots

Lately I’ve been getting into audiobooks. So, basically I’m reading one book on my Kindle, listening to another one on my phone (while driving, cooking, cleaning, etc.) and writing another one for you. Yep, lots of characters in my head.

JUST FINISHED

The Year We Hid Away  by Sarina Bowen. Two college students have some heavy sh%# to deal with, causing them to hide some big secrets individually. Together they find a way through it all.

I'M ON TO

Mister Moneybags by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland – Oh my gosh – I started this on a plane and was embarrassed I was laughing so much. I’m loving this “false identity” romance. Hilarious.

IN THE LINEUP

Nothing bought yet.

OTHER AUDIOBOOKS I'VE ENJOYED LATELY

The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen. ABSOLUTELY loved this book. And I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew certain specifics about the heroine. But I would have missed out big time. So do yourself a favor and read/listen to this book without reading the blurb. It’s fun, funny, sexy as hell, and emotionally satisfying.

Mr. Wrong  by Liz Kelly. Yes, I listened to my own book because the narrator does a bang up job bringing Thor to life AND it helps me remember what storylines I’ve got going on as I continue to write Mr. Wright.

Pucked Over  by Helena Hunting. This is my favorite in the series. There’s a great sweetness to all that sexy Randy Ballistic brings to bedroom. Language is horrendous and totally cracks me up.

Pucked Up by Helena Hunting. This is “the brother’s story” from the heroine in Pucked. He’s been with more women than he can remember, has a self-proclaimed PHD in the feminine orgasm, and is being skewered by social media and his contingent of “Puck Bunnies” as he tries to woo the one woman who has finally snagged his heart.

Pucked by Helena Hunting. Quirky potty mouth heroine falls for exactly what she doesn’t want – a the captain of the Blackhawks who is a total player.

Complicated by Kristen Ashley. Exclusively on audio, it’s over 18 hours long and has that distinct “Ashley” style. I enjoyed listening to it. A small-town sheriff is the perfect hero with an awful lot of real life baggage. So things do get complicated when he finds the new love of his life while the whole town watches.

Blurred Lines by Lauren Layne. Narrated by Mason Lloyd & Allison Pike. Parker Blanton and Ben Olsen are best friends. Then the lines blur. I thought it was brilliant. Loved the narrators. Will definitely be reading/listening to more by Lauren Layne.

Bad Cop by Liz Kelly. Narrated by Charles Lawrence. Yep. When I want to get in my writing groove and am starting a new book, listening or reading one of my own gets me back to Henderson.

The Deal by Elle Kennedy. Narrated by Lorelei Avalon.

The Mistake by Elle Kennedy. Narrated by Lorelei Avalon.

The Score by Elle Kennedy. Narrated by Sandra Peachwood & Andrew. Love this series. Read them on my Kindle first. Then listened to them.

Him by Elle Kennedy & Sarina Bowen. Narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Jacob Morgan. And then Us by Elle Kennedy & Sarina Bowen. These two are not for everyone … just saying!
